Why not shoot Behind the Scenes shots? Don't you ever wonder what goes into the Browntography Experience? I love to share a shot of my sessions so you can see that not everything is always peachy-perfect! There is no way that I can immediately bond with every Munchkin. Each Kiddie has their own personality. Some are happier than others, a lot more timid, or just overly active. I have had the pleasure of meeting all personalities noted and some. I NEVER stress out. Kiddies can feel your tude', seeping through your glands. You really can't lie to a child, but only fib with good intentions.
As a kid I tested every adult I ever encountered. I suppose I wanted to challenge how tolerant they were of different situations and of course, me. :chuckles; With that said, I have rarely, RARELY, ever cancelled/rescheduled a session due to "bad" behavior. Talk to each Munchkin as a tiny adult. Wasn't it annoying to have people talk down or child-like to you when young? Changing the tone of your voice helps, but never to the point that you sound like a squeaky mouse. Be yourself & never underestimate a Kiddie. They are wise!
Do colors catch their attention? Maybe a favorite song? Maybe dad doing jumping jacks behind me? If all else fails, ask the little Rugrat about them. Who doesn't like talking about themselves? Make sure to pre-plan and ask their parents when they are their brightest and happiest! Learn to deal with ANY situation. With experience, you eventually learn to decipher what "category" each child you meet falls under.
Just remember, the key is for your little client to have a blast! My goal is to capture that killer shot and get a great workout!
Kudos, Brownie
